Scholarships & Waivers

HFC recognizes that financial barriers can exist. We have some options to help.

Waivers

Highland Friendship Club program costs may be covered by your waiver funds. If you have a Consumer Directed Community Support (CDCS) style waiver funds, the first step would be for you to connect with your waiver provider to see if your waiver budget allowance qualifies.

Members/caregivers/parents work directly with the wavier providers to manage their own budgets, allowances, billing and reimbursement.

Scholarships

On average Highland Friendship Club (HFC) are $10 for online and $15 for in person programs.

Scholarships are awarded at the discretion of the HFC Scholarship Committee. 

Scholarship awards will cover program registration costs for HFC classes, programs, and events. 

Scholarship Application Process

Applying for a scholarship is simple and only takes about 10 minutes to complete.

You'll need to provide your contact information and write a short explanation detailing your financial need and why you're requesting a scholarship.

Those awarded scholarships will be able to participate in HFC programs of their choice

  • I have been in HFC since I was a teenager. I was one of the youngest members. In the beginning there weren't as many members as we have now. I am glad that we keep new members! What I like best about HFC are the instructors. They always make me feel welcomed. They help me when I need help and encourage me when I think I can't do something. They make each class fun by having us try new things!

  • HFC has enhanced Tricia's life tremendously from teen years through transitioning to young adulthood. HFC has given us both a sense of belonging and helped Tricia with skills for living! Recently, Tricia was involved with a personal safety class. HFC addresses needs that parents often look for support with for their young adults. It's been wonderful.

Through HFC I've done things I couldn't have anywhere else like circus arts, movie making, cooking classes and beat boxing plus swimming, singing, bowling, parties, dances and retreats. And that's not counting many activities I haven't even tried yet!
