Mission

Who We Are

The Highland Friendship Club is a non-profit organization created by parents frustrated by the lack of accessible, age-appropriate, interesting and challenging opportunities for young adults with disabilities to form real friendships and develop important life skills. Its efforts are supported by generous contributions from individuals, foundations, government and educational grants and local businesses who share the Club's commitment to inclusion and full participation.

It boils down to helping our members make friends, experience new things and find new interests that will help prepare them for an independent adult life.

Where We're Going

The Highland Friendship Club has come a long way in a short time. And we have big plans for the future. Over the next five years, assuming necessary support and financial backing can be obtained, the Highland Friendship Club plans to:

  • Have over 200 young adult members with disabilities who regularly participate in activities and events
  • Create new and expand existing partnerships with community organizations who share our commitment to helping young adults with disabilities achieve independence.
  • Provide a wide array of activities and events that are fun, challenge our club members to try something new, support our community and help our members gain independence.
