What is the Highland Friendship Club's non-profit status?
The Highland Friendship Club formalized its 501c3 status in 2004. All donations to our organization are tax deductible and we'll happily provide any documentation you need to gain full tax benefits from your financial donations or in-kind support.
Over the past four years, the Highland Friendship Club has received operating and program grants from the City of St. Paul, The Bremer Foundation, the Saint Paul Foundation, the Boss Foundation, the Highwinds Fund of Macalester College, The F. R. Bigelow Foundation, the Lanners Family Foundation, The Deluxe Foundation and Highland Bank.
Why should I or my business support the Highland Friendship Club?
There are a lot of reasons. Most important, of course, is that successful people and businesses know the importance of supporting their communities. People with disabilities are an important, often unrecognized, part of our community. They bring different perspectives to community events and activities, the workplace and their relationships with others.
On a more practical level, many businesses are experiencing increasing problems with employee turnover rates and recognize the value of hiring people with disabilities. Countless studies have shown repeatedly that, with proper supports, people with disabilities are an extremely capable, loyal, stable and committed workforce. Many of our members are in transition programs, looking for their first jobs or are already experienced workers - an ideal source of new employees for you!
Finally, the Highland Friendship Club is a well-established, respected, unique and growing community organization. Our individual donors and our business partners can feel comfortable about being associated with us. Some of the local businesses that have supported the Highland Friendship Club include:
- Highland Bank,
- Hermes Floral
- Xcel Energy
- TCF Bank
- Davanni's
My business sometimes has extra tickets to local sporting events, theatre performances, etc. Would the Highland Friendship Club be interested in them?
Absolutely. This type of donation allows our members to attend many events and activities they couldn't afford otherwise. Please keep the Highland Friendship Club in mind if you need to find a home for tickets, etc. Contact Amy Stedman at 651-698-4096 or email her at astedman@highlandfriendshipclub.org to discuss your situation.
Does the Highland Friendship Club accept cash donations from individuals and businesses?
You bet! Contact Mary McKeown at 651-278-5732 or email her at mary@highlandfriendshipclub.org to discuss opportunities to sponsor a Highland Friendship Club event, make a donation to our general operating funds or provide other financial support. |
